Eating is a big and important part of life. It is necessary for kids and adults to thrive, it can be culturally and socially significant, and of course it is enjoyable! But whether they are two or twelve, feeding kids can be a different story! Many kids eat a great variety of foods and don’t shy away from trying new things, but many others are picky as soon as they are introduced to solid food or they can become more picky as they get older. We can worry about them getting enough nutrients to grow, and wonder if they’ll develop healthy habits as they get older. In addition, food can be really closely related to issues around body confidence and we don’t want to treat eating in a way that promotes negative body images or unhealthy patterns (physical, emotional and psychological).
So what happens when feeding your kids is no fun at all? Fortunately, the internet is full of valuable resources for more effective (and less stressful) ways to feed our kids.
