Do you have an idea of what a perfect relationship might look like? God is calling us to the experience of getting our eyes off ourselves and how we’re measuring up, and onto Jesus. He wants us to stop pursuing or being paralyzed by perfectionism so we are free to pursue love and pursue trusting him with all our hearts (Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.)
Get into the practical details of who you are and who someone else is. Be willing to share and let go of some of your ideas to embrace the future.
Let the chains of perfection break free and grow by sharing the heart and soul of who you are, where you have been, and where God is taking you. God has something far better for us to strive toward than our idealized imaginations of perfection, which only end up enslaving us. Do not burden your heart or others with the idea of "perfect".
Let's take heart that God has given us the strength and grace to nurture our relationships. When we work on the underlying issues in our lives with humility, we grow in our relationships just as God intended.
